COCO LOCO island resort, palawan

I couldn't help but reminisce those goodtimes when we were in palawan, but most of the places i visited there, these resort was the best, dos palmas might have the modern amenities but in terms of the beauty, simplicity and real nature? its the coco loco resort..

the resort was not well known in manila, it was only offered to us by our tour guide in puerto princesa, he had the brochure, we thought with its cheap accomodation, we made reservation on the city and it was radio-ed to the resort..

instead of hiring a van (pajero actualy) which we did when we went to sabang-underground river, we chose to take a public transpo, ordinary bus to save money as well, it took us 4hours from puerto princesa city to roxas palawan, rough road and foggy!-just kidding it was all road dust, it was like having a baby powder all over our body when we arrived roxas, palawan.

at the beach we wait for the boat of the resort, it was a big boat (they call it dekwatro-in my hometown navotas) and we are only 4 passenger-deluxe service hehe.. it took us 1hr until we reach the island, coming from afar as we reach the island, it was magnificent (we just finished island hop at honda bay a day before) and this island is far more beautiful than any of those islands in honda bay..
had a pics from the net:

We had a welcome drink fresh coconut juice and a free dinner-smorgasboard
some ot the resorts amenities and activities to offer was on my review section..

it was my first time to do the kayak-pucha ang hirap pala! hehe.. i thought it was easy, it was soo.. exhausting..

if i  describe the cottage we rent twas like going up to the three step stairs there's a small pool for your foot to wash those sand, then a balcony where in the left side was a hammock,
upon opening the door a queen size bed will come to view, studio type room, a cabinet on the other side and a small table to eat, there's an electric fan hanging from the ceiling at the far end was a curtain when you pull it aside it was the cr/shower room hahaha!!
the cottage was all made up of bamboo and abaca and surrounded by bogainville plant..

we tour around the island, since it can be circled thru walk in just 30mins.. and we encounter a guitar shark in a shallow-i thought they are mating, they were like 4 swamping with each other..
(now i found out that it was a crocodile shark-whew!)

they ran away as soon as we came mmm.. 3feet from them, they have a good camouflage, we were startled, it was amazing to see such animal in the wild..

as we came back to the resort proper, they have an in-house reef where guests were encourage to feed the fish and being a hobbyist ( i have a salt water tank at home) i am familiar with the fishes i saw under.. but not those rays.. who swam away when saw me coming near him..

they say it is best to snorkle when dawn is coming, this is the time where the predator fish came to hunt and i am absolutely right, i saw those lionfish hanging and not moving and those
grouper whose like sitting of the corals waiting for a fish to swallow those school of reef fish (sweet lips) below..slowly scanning the corals for the small fishes to grab..

suddenly, i was stoned! i cannot move at all with shock, i don't know what to do.. as i look to my right and left, front and below, i was surrounded by a jackfish. OMG! am i doomed??
we were only two was left snorkeling-a foreigner, he was so amazed by how those jackfish surrounds me and swam with me, twas like they are inch away from you but when you touch them they move away and return back later.. i feel i was so blessed being/swimming with them; my friends are already taking a rest.. it was a unbelievable moments..

jackfish or big eye trevally are talakitok in tagalog masarap yan sinigang sa miso hehehe..

I will post those pics we have here after my friend scan them all, im using an SLR that time since digicam was not that available -2001 hehehe..
It was a good experience, you can have it too.. here is the link:
